...I do have one of dave points savers and love it, tractor runs better has more power and starts a hole lot easy. i just ordered two more for my other units.would recommend it to every one.it is by the best impovment i have done to my tractor.

Mike

Dave installed it tonight this thing is the best. real easy to install hope you do well with these. I know i want more thank you.this looks like you made it very well. i seen some bad products out there you can tell this is made well.thanks again

Mike

Dave, I had two separate starts at 20 below zero. One was at 22 below, if my outdoor thermometer is that accurate. She started both times hard but, better then I thought she would. I truly believe your PointsSaver helps at these temps with the hotter spark. I know how hard it was to get her started last year at only 5 below or so. I even remember wedging my lead light against the oil pan all night to help her out...

Hey guys, Most of you that are regulars here know of Dave Kirk and the excellent detailed work he does. I admire his attention to detail and respect his mechanical knowledge. Dave and I have discussed several topics over the past couple years through e mail. I was the first to buy a couple of his custom/modified breather covers. Which without a doubt keeps my cubs cleaner, longer..
I live in the north east and winter temps can go to minus 35 degrees below zero here. When Dave explained his latest project the PointsSaver to me I told him I wanted one. He asked if I would field test a proto type unit for cold weather durability and performance.
After daily morning and evening starts @ sub zero weather and several starts at -20 to -25 below zero. I can honestly say that Daves PointsSaver which produces a hotter spark improved the starting ability of my 149. Points had been a large problem in Ign. systems for years. That's why the automotive industry turned to electronic ign. Converting your Kohler K series to solid state ign. is expensive and requires partial disassembly of the motor. Daves PointsSaver will provide basically the same results for far less money and is very simple to install. Dave has come up with two great products for our cubs. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Mike L. Glad to see others are aware of the great benefits of Daves PointsSaver. I like the LED feature that allows you to use the static method of setting the points. A feeler gauge is just that, a feel and everybodys is different. Even a timing light is not 100% accurate on these K series. The static method is. Mike, try one of Daves breather/valve covers. You won't have that dirty, oily mess any more least not on the carb side... It makes a huge differance especially if your motor is tired. later....

WOW. That's about all I have to say, the general demeanor of the engine just seems to be more precise, it doesn't seem to stumble when it starts up like before, it immediately picks up and goes. At high idle the engine used to miss every so often and that'd send the governor searching for speed again, it doesn't do that now. The small size allows for discrete mounting, all the wires are of adequate length for any foreseen installation. End of story; I'm building a special tractor with a warmed up engine, there's no question I'll buy a unit for that tractor.

Six hours are on the unit, this includes the 20 minutes I warmed the engine up for head bolt retorquing. If you look at the video linked on the forum, to me it just sounds different, just more crisp. As of right now, timing is set at 23 degrees, new Autolite 216 plug is installed and indexed, new head gasket was installed. No issues with startups, hesitation, misfiring. General running is excellent and strong.

Hi Dave, Just put the pointssavers in my Wheel Horse 414-8 that was hard to start before. I did as the instructions said new plug and points and made sure the choke closed all the way then started it up. Boy what a difference, it started with no problem and purred like a kitten. If there work like that on my Cubs then believe that is the way to go on all the Kohler engines. Thanks again,

Jim Melicharek (Jmelicharek)

Have to join everyone else and say what a great thing the PointsSaver Dave has is - just finished putting it on one of my 123's and a world of difference. Have to also consider I still keep reading mechanics and engines for Dummies.

Roger

The points saver I received from you has been installed on my John Deere 214 with 14 horsepower Kohler engine. Starts much quicker and runs much smoother and throttle response is much crisper. Took only 30 minutes to install. Very satisfied with results. Let me know if you get a tachometer module available.

Mark

Hello David,
I would like to Thank You for your electronic ignition. It really works well I just got done installing it and tuning up my tractor. The tractor runs 10 times better and starts allot easier. I was looking at your breather set up I was wondering it would work on my 10 Hp engine. If it will fit I would like to order one.

Chris

Got it installed last Saturday. As advertised, not difficult. I managed a temporary bracket and will eventually find a correct size chunk of metal for the job. As I don't like to add holes, this mounting lets you use existing holes and see the LED on the points side of the engine (with the covers off). I did manage to install new points as the existing ones were notably burnt. It ran very well after the transplant and as the name implies, it will protect the new points from wearing out and timing correct.
This is a great idea and the next best thing this side of true electronic ignition. Haven't had much run time yet, but will let you know of any observations. Thanks again!!

Larry Atherton

David, I wish I could give you a testimonial on the 2 units I bought a couple of weeks ago, I bought 2, 1 for me, and 1 for Dad...
He put his on his 147 and liked it so well, he put mine on his 124 !! I guess I need to buy ME a couple.

Tim Wheaton

I liked the first Point-Saver very well and recieved the 2nd one I bought yesterday.

You all may have read my post about me installing my PointSaver in a such a location so as to cause a piece of vibrating metal to cut the insulation on the wires of the module and causing it to fail. Dave Kirk also read it and emailed me to say it was warranted for a year against failure whether owner induced or not and he is sending me a replacement free of charge. WOW, that is really great. Just had to let everyone know the integrity of the product and its seller.

Richard

David
Just wanted to let you know that I am mowing steadly with the 1450 and the point saver, temperatures are running 104 to 106 almost every day and the point saver hasn't missed a lick. I think the position I placed them on the gas tank bracket was a good one. Just thought you might like an update from sunny AZ.

Jim Diederich

The pull went fine in spite of the wet conditions. It was a great weekend for my family, 2 firsts, 2 seconds! The point saver was everything I could have ever hoped it would be and more. I am seeing a smoother running engine at higher rpms now. Power seems real good as a result too. Very happy with it!

Bob Pellerin

Dear Mr. Kirk,
Sorry about the delay writing to you to let you know how I made out with the PointsSaver I had ordered. It was installed a few days after arriving. I used the static timing feature to get the timing set and it started right up. I checked the timing after the engine was running and warmed up and did not have to make much adjustment after that. Wiring was straight forward and instructions were fine. I am happy with the product. Thank you!

Roger

Jack you asked if any one here is using the points saver? I have one on my 214 and I think it works great. I did not put it on for performance reasons but for reliability. If you have ever changed points on a 200 series you will understand why you do not to do this real often. Things I have noticed are 1) The tractor starts much faster especially after it sits for a long time. 2) Throttle response seems crisper. 3) You do not have to use the condenser (capacitor in JD terms), which to me was always the weak part of the Kohler ignition system. 4) I have seen no ill effects and it has been on the tractor for 10 months at this point. 5) Installation was easy. just follow the directions that come with it. I plan on ordering one for my points ignition Tecumseh powered 112 in the near future so I guess I am a repeat customer.

Richard Tunison

The now installed "Ultimate" ignition system has this old motorhead smiling. The Kohler has never felt so "right"! I'm very impressed with your product and would recommend it to anyone. It definately has a "wow" factor. :-) I took the time to clean ALL of the grounds on the tractor as well as charge the battery and clean its terminals. The new points were cleaned as per instructions. I put in a new spark plug and wire, set the timing mark to the center of the hole, set the timing with your cool built in static l.e.d.and started her. That's when the "wow"factor came in. The motor has never run so smooth and so strong. I wasn't shy about mounting the "Ultimate" module where I could see the the l.e.d. working but it will get mounted in the same holes on the inside of the cover panel when I get the right mounting hardware. Then again, this working Cub never gets wet anyhow and being a computer person who likes to see things blinking (working .. LOL) I might just keep it there. :-D Thanks for the extra long wires and connectors. Although I'm going to custom fit the wires for length, your product covers most options for mounting. Thanks again Mr. Kirk......... my Kohler has been beamed up

Paul

Dave

As soon as I installed the Pointsaver I noticed a difference. It really helps out in cold starting as I use the tractor at my Northern Michigan cabin for snow removal. My 149 is a wideframe with battery under the seat, I will send a check for the battery tray. Thanks again, and keep those great products coming!

Willie

hello dave. just a note to let you know that we had a big three day pull the last weekend af january and the four tractors that i put your point savers did well. one we could not get finished in time and the other three got four firsts , four seconds, and three thirds . we pulled in two classes three days, and i was very happy with the point savers. one tractor died during the pull and back in the pits looking at the led light it was easy to tell we had a points problem, new points, reset the timing and won the next class. thank you for an excellent product and i hope to be able to sell some.

Robert

Hello, David I received the modules and have one installed. I can already tell the engine starts better when it is cold.

Ken

I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I AM VERY PLEASED WITH YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS. THERE IS A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN MY ENGINES PERFORMANCE. I OWN TWO OTHER KOHLER ENGINES THAT I INTEND TO UPGRADE WITH YOUR PRODUCTS IN THE FUTURE.

Willie

good evening dave, well the points savers that i got from you have been working perfectly, so far we have had a great pulling season and of the four tractors that i put them on we have had no ignition problems what so ever. i need to order 3 more with coils, will you please send me your address. will you accept my personal check? i am not in a rush, so i do not mind if you hold shipping until check clears. also do you have any decals for you products? would love to put a sticker on tractor

Buddy Clayton

David, Thank you!!!!!!!! The point saver arrived today. I was so excited! But before I could get outside to put it on, the rain came, and at the moment I don't have a shop. The 420 is under a carport right now and the point saver is installed. The 420 is alive again!!!! I have to go back to work wed. for at least a week. When I return I will replace the points and plugs and give it a field test. Your instructions are very easy to understand. And I really liked the trouble shooting guide. The first time I tried it, there was no spark. I cleaned the points, checked spark plugs and gap, and finally got a weak spark. After cleaning the points again with sandpaper, the spark was enough to start it. It now starts easily. I'll let you know how it runs after a tune up. Thanks again.

Just a quick note to tell you I installed new points and plugs on my JD 420. It started immediately. And has ever since. I've been waiting on weather and time to try it out. Well, I just got back from cutting a 1.07 acre lot. The grass was tall, thick and still a little wet from the dew. The Onan never missed a beat!!!!!!!! I shut it off while I loaded my other tractor. When I got ready to load the 420, it fired right off, and it idled right on the trailer without hesitation. Thank you very much. I will put a point saver on any future project with points. $28.50 saved this Onan from an early execution! I guess that makes you a lifesaver. LOL.

Tim Stroud

Hi David,

We are pretty much in a drought down here so I haven't had much of a chance to mow yet. I went out and rode it around the yard for about 20 minutes and it runs better than it ever did before. I must have never had the timing right. My timing light must be junk. It starts easier and runs smoother than ever. I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Brad

David:

I would like for you to give me a cost on shipping four (4) point savers to Brownsburg, Indiana (46112). I have consumed all five (5) of the previous units that I have installed on my or my friends tractors with outstanding results. Thank you for your help.

Randy Wolfe

Hey David,

Thanks for the quick response. Because of your suggestion on how to check the PointSaver off the engine, I found the fault (MINE!). Your PointSaver is now working just like it always did. You have a great product.

John O'Donnell

Hey David,

I purchased your Ultimate Point Saver. The module and Bosch coil. Just got through installing it. Took about 15 minutes (not including mounting the potted module). That is the greatest thing I have seen in a long time. Works great and is affordable. Thanks for marketing it. I will be buying another as soon as I get my next K301 together. I have two John Deere 212's I am restoring that have the K301 12HP engine in them. I mounted the new coil on top of the engine to the lifting tab. The blue coil looks way cool under that hood.

The module is mounted just behind the throttle on the left side dash panel. I was going to mount it so the LED fit into a drilled hole and was visible from the dash but after thinking about it I though it would rive me crazy seeing that flashing light all the time. One advantage to seeing the LED is one day the engine died and it wouldn't start again. I didn't know it but the PTO lever has a safety switch on it that kills the ignition only, not the starting circuit. So you can crank all day long and the engine isn't going to start (if you are not sitting on the seat which has a switch also and overrides the PTO safety). I wasn't sitting. I happened to bump the PTO lever and she started right up. That's how I learned about this. It should disable the starter also. Anyway long story short, with the LED you would notice it wasn't flashing if this happened. I tested it and the LED will not flash if you are not sitting and the PTO safety is activated.

Thanks again for a fine product.

Paul

Well, here's a follow-up to my 1977 210 ignition problems. After going through the normal troubleshooting procedures and hoping it was nothing really weird like Ernie's shorted stator. I eliminated the key switch, points, condenser, wiring, faulty grounds, and safety switches, I came to the conclusion that it had to be a bad coil. Rather than just get another coil I decided to go for the Electronic PointSaver System, which I read about in this forum. It comes with a Bosch Blue coil and a PointSaver module. (both available separately) I R&R the coil, installed the PointSaver module, turned the key and it fired right up. Whew! Now I shouldn't ever have to worry about changing points again and the PointSaver eliminates the need for a condenser.

I was just at David Kirk's place this past Saturday. I got a chance to look at his various products, all first class stuff. He offered a chance for me to test drive his "Killer Kohler" 1250 but time did not allow. I'll be making another trip out to visit him some time this spring or summer so I hope to get a chance then to take him up on that offer. David is a true gentleman, great to do business with.

Richard Lueders

I just received my Super Steering upgrade kit from Kirk Engines and wanted to say that Dave Kirk is great to deal with. He treated my $9 order as if it were a $90 order. I had sent too much money for shipping and told him not to worry about it, yet he sent back a $1 coin. I installed the kit last night and it works great. Steering is very much improved. I would do business with Kirk Engines again.

John Witt

Your Dual Point Saver arrived yesterday in good shape. I installed it in my Fairmont MT-14-L railcar in about an hour and a half with no problems at all. It's too early to tell about on-the-rail performance, but the engine is definitely running more smoothly, resulting I think from more even firing from the two separate coils as well as the somewhat hotter spark. I was able to adjust the idle speed a bit lower and still get positive throttle response. It's a real pleasure to hear it tick around so smoothly.

John Witt

I just got back from a day of running the speeder to support the Dayton, WA, depot restoration group. Several of the other operators remarked at how smooth and even the idle was. The engine now pulls well right into the full throttle range where it stumbled before and hot starting is nearly instantaneous. Very pleased with the performance. I think you'll be hearing more from the speeder folk.

Shane

Thanks for the help and suggestions. The point saver checked out ok and was not the problem. It turned out to be a loose connection in the ignition circuit at the ammeter. My cub has never run better than it has since I installed the point saver and bosch coil. Thanks for offering these nice products.

Dennis Frisk

Got a bit more seat time on the 72 Saturday night. This new engine is AWESOME! The ACR works better than ANY Kohler I've ever had....Starter rolls it over so easy and it starts on the first compression stroke. Dave Kirk's PointsSaver has something to do with that I bet....Hotter spark! Even with the engine loaded with the mower & lawn vacuum with the cart FULL of packed-in grass clippings the engine still had plenty of power for pulling hills & turns and just jumped up in RPM as the load increased when I gave the engine more throttle.

Oh...And anyone building up a large displacement Kohler engine....Definitely spend the $$$$ to have it balanced! Dave Kirk did a GREAT job balancing this engine. It doesn't vibrate near as much as the K241 that it replaced. It's not as smooth as the ONAN in the 982 but it's VERY close! Son & I want to build up the K241 similar to this K321. But maybe not quite as much cam.

Darwin Merryfield

You may not remember me. I bought a point saver from you quite a while back to put on my hot rodded K301 in a 1977 JD 312. Recently I finally got around to installing it, and boy couldn't believe the difference it made in starting!!! I've only about 36 hours or so on the tractor since the rebuild and while the original points were far from bad, put a new set on. Of course you're aware of the nature of the point gap for the timing. It was becoming a bit cantankerous! After getting a new set of points and a place to mount the PS could NOT believe the difference! You'll probably be hearing from my brother (David) for his 316 real soon.

Paul

Hi Dave, all I can say is this pointsaver addition to my JD 110 10 HP is unreal. I mow with tons of power and the starting is quick and idles so smooth I'm still amazed everytime I use the tractor. It's everything you said it would be. Much appreciated and thanks for the care in your emails.

Richard Tunison

Today was the day for the 129's annual major tune up and hydro fluid/filter changing and I wanted to relate some observations.

First is I just love these little tractors!!

Second, The PointSaver and coil from David Kirk is a must have component for these Kohlers in my opinion to eliminate some problems inherent with these motors and enhance performance and ease of service.

I purchased and installed his kit 3 yrs. ago and when I pulled the points cover to adjust the timing which did need tweeked, the points look like brand new.... shiney even. Follow the instructions that come with the Pointsaver to set your timing darn close with the LED, even with worn parts. I checked my work with a timing light and the sp mark was almost dead center...

Andy Skiba

I finally installed your system on an 20hp Onan CCKB engine, on an Allis Chalmers tractor. It worked perfectly and it runs better than it ever has. The original ignition system was always poor. This is just what I have been looking for. Thanks again...

John Rickard

Recently I bought your two cylinder ignition kit for an old Onan generator in my motor home. Installation was straight forward and it ran well. This past weekend I put the generator to extensive use while living in the motor home for three days and the generator ran flawlessly!

With the original setup, surging had been the worst problem with the generator occasionally surging to a stop. Now I've been able to return the fuel richness to the correct level (a rich mixture reduced the surging problem apparently because it's easier to spark in a rich atmosphere). The biggest test for surging is using the air conditioning. Right now when the A/C compressor there is still about 3 or 4 cycles of surging before it dampens out and this seems a reasonable response to a big increase in load.

I'm very pleased with the new ignition and the generator's improved performance.

Bill Copeland

I received your parts last Thursday and installed them yesterday in my unheated garage with the temps around 25 degrees. Despite the cold hands everything went well. Your setup is so much better than the electronic ignition. When you said to expect a blue spark you were not kidding! My Power King tractor never ran this good. Thanks for a great product.

John

I am already a customer. I bought your electronic Point-Saver and it works great! At first I had a little trouble setting it because of my limited knowledge of engines and their timing marks. My neighbor is a mechanic and he showed me how to adjust your Point-Saver. After it was adjusted, it worked great and still does to this day. I attached a copy of the new engine I installed. My cub cadet was made in 1968 and cuts 3 acres every week during the summer. With the help of your Point-Saver, I am sure to get many more years of service from it.

Darrin Quinter

Hi there, this is Darrin Quinter, my dad just bought a twin set up PointSaver for my daughters pulling tractor. We have run these in the past and love them. I think we got our first one about 7 years ago and still have it and it works great. I am grateful to you for your service and quick response and replacement when we were having problems with the one that wasn't working properly. Thanks to you we have it up and running and kicking butt. I attached a picture of her and her tractor, she is very proud of it as she is 2007 Track Champion. Without the PointSaver she couldn't get half way down the track without burning a condenser. I hope it is ok that I am pushing your product in many pulling and other tractor news groups to people who have any type of ignition problems. There seem to be many people asking lots of questions and seem very interested so I hope It sends you some orders your way.

Wes

I just wanted to say thanks, I installed the dual ultimate ignition on my old Kohler generator and that thing hasn't run this smooth as long as I've owned it. Before installing this I had bought new points, condenser, carb kit, and spark plugs then set the timing and none of it helped. After installing your set up it starts easy and runs without coughing and sputtering. Excellent product, excellent price and excellent customer service.

Steve Lohrer

Dave, I got the new bosch coil and pointsaver installed this weekend. They are working great!!! My John Deere 214 didn't run bad at all prior to the installation of these parts, but I was concerned about cold starting as this will be my first winter with this tractor. With these new parts I can idle the tractor at a much slower speed without stalling than I could before and it runs smoother at higher RPMs. The quality of these parts is second to none. I was really impressed and glad I was buying something made in the midwest. Thanks again and best of luck.

Dan B

Testimonial: Point saver on CC149 last year, never got cold enough to put it to the ultimate test. Last Friday morning it was 15 deg, no problems starting. In the warmer weather the 149 would start as soon as I took the key out of my pocket. Truth is stranger than fact.

Bob LeClair

To follow-up - your product is awesome, thank you! The installation was very easy and trouble free.

I noticed improved starting right away and it runs smoother than before.

I gapped the plugs for .025 (I was wrong before... 025 is what the manual calls for), and ran on gasoline. Then I gapped them for .018 and ran on propane.

Oddly enough, the coil itself runs much cooler than before. Any thoughts on that?

Great product. I have informed several folks at the Onan forum on http://www.smokstak.com.

Please continue to make the PointSaver, I am need more in the future...LOL

Jason

Just wanted to say thank you for the great products you supplied.

The 317 fired right up faster than I can ever recall. To think I've wasted all these years fighting with it and getting angry when it wouldn't start. I can finally start to restore the tractor now that I know it'll run.

I even posted about your kit on MTF... http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=113350 if you want to take a look.

I can't thank you enough!

Matt Tedone

I installed my second PointSaver on my sons Cub 14hp Kohler stock altered pulling tractor. I run the larger Chevy points. Amazing; we ran it on the dyno along with using an older sun 4 cycle ignition tester the spark was much hotter and the ignition firing was a lot faster. The overall throttle response has improved drastically, especially above 3500 rpm. Is your tachometer available yet? Please let me know the cost plus shipping.

Bradley Pepperman

I just thought I should give you a thanks for a great cam regrind. I have it in my son's cub 100 with a hot 12 hp Kohler pulling tractor. We have yet to lose power. I'm very pleased. Yesterday he had his first full pull in a 1100 lb. class and he beat 24 other pullers.

Arch

Since buying a PointSaver from Kirk Engines, Inc. at the beginning of the summer of 2010 I have never had my 1963 flathead 45 cubic inch Harley-Davidson engine fail to start on the first kick after the mandatory two choke kicks. Not only has it started easily and perfectly, but it settles right down into an even idle very quickly and continues to run perfectly out on the road.

I have over 2,000 miles on the PointSaver and I must say that the engine runs like a clock and never misses a beat. It's like a kitten running on gasoline! It just purrs.

Randy Strausborger

I finally was able to get the Pointsaver installed in my 42 year old Wheel Horse and she has never ran so good! I could decrease the idle speed and she ran smooth as glass. I am extremely satisfied with the Pointsaver. Thanks for providing this product to us "old Kohler" lovers.

Keith Wild

Just wanted to say thanks for the best running k341 Kohler on the planet. With your parts this motor is safe from the V-twin transplant. Smooth, easy start and POWER. And the tach is sweet. You should see the smile on my face. Again Thanks

Donald A Spisak

I received the shipment of parts and installed them on my 1976 Massey Ferguson 16hp Kohler lawn tractor -- I followed the instructions on timing, checked everything, then fired up the engine -- I put a timing light on it and found the "S" mark right in the middle of the cover hole! - It was perfect! - I cut the lawn this morning - the tractor really ran quieter with less vibration and it did have more power -- Before, I couldn't hardly idle the engine and thought there was a vacuum leak somewhere --- those new parts made all the difference! -- I never touched the carb adjustment and it runs like a champ! ------ It did take some figuring where to put the module, I think I got that one solved! -- Thanks,

Joe

Thanks for the parts, I got them installed and setting the timing was amazingly quick and easy, I love that LED! Tractor runs like a champ now and this solved many of my issues.

Sorry I have taken so long to send this message, been a bit busy the last few days.

Anyway, I received the 140 care package on Thursday of last week, Installed it Friday after work and VROOM !!!

WoW, what a neat little setup !! The instructions were very clear and very easy to follow.

Thank You Very Much for Your Help !!

I am attaching a link to pictures of my 140 just to show that I do have some pride in my tractors and attachment and now have a heartbeat provided by David Kirk Engines !! http://photobucket.com/Rons-140

Jay

Sorry for all the emails - I know you have real work to do!

Your PointSaver is really amazing. When I first read the rave reviews I was a little suspicious (think of the Sham-WOW infomercials..) but I can absolutely attest that the product works exactly as specified - and maybe even better! On top of the performance, what I am even more impressed with is the fact you figured this out basically yourself and you worked with a friend to figure out how to make them. And the price is perfect - very affordable. Plus the service is exceptional as well...

...So, I guess a repeat purchase is the best way to show my satisfaction with your products and support. Can you please let me know the final price for the Ultimate Ignition - the PointSaver and the Bosch Blue coil? I'll get you a check right away.

Mike Alberts

The point saver worked great on my 318 and fixed the erratic idle problem I had. Thanks again.

Jason Deutmeyer

I got my Dual PointSaver kit installed on my Onan the other night and did some tuning. Wow that is a great set up it starts and idles tons better! The throttle response is great. I'm very impressed, cannot wait to finish the tractor and hook it to a sled this spring. This is definitely an upgrade for my other Cubs in the future.

David Novak

I received my order on Saturday and installed the point saver and coil on my Gravely 10 HP Kohler. This was the engine that had the Kohler electronic ignition that had intermittent spark issues. Since this engine had the points boss, all holes threaded for points, and a lobe on the cam for the points push rod, I decided to convert this engine to your Ultimate Ignition system. I proceeded to knock out the plug that plugged the points pushrod hole and installed the pushrod and points, and timed them with the points saver module per your directions. With all the wiring double checked I turned over the engine and it sprung to life. The first thing I noticed was the crisp throttle response. The throttle response feels like I just installed an aluminum flywheel on this engine.

I picked this Gravely Tractor up with my father back in 1972 and I operated this tractor for hours blowing snow in upstate New York. Since I have a history with this tractor can tell you that this engine has never started, or ran this well (I think the electronic ignition system was bad from day one in this engine). I ran this engine for over 2 hours Saturday and it never missed a beat!

Since I purchased 2 Ultimate Ignition systems from you I can't wait to install your system on my 12 HP Gravely. This engine has always run well and I can't wait to see if your system improves the performance of this engine.

I would highly recommend your Ultimate Ignition system to anyone.

Thank You for your help!

Bob Osif

David, I installed the Ultimate Ignition System on Saturday and my 1983 318 never started better. It literally started immediately. My wife then enjoyed turning the hour meter over 1700 hours as she mowed the lawn into her scalloped patterns. I only wish I had discovered your system sooner. I did go to the local Deere dealer to get some spark plug wire connectors to customize the wire lengths to accommodate the placement of the coil on the center line of the firewall. This visit to the service department may be the last for a while.

Thanks for your commitment to making Kohler engines better, my old 318 Deere with the B43 Onan is your latest beneficiary.

Comment: I just want to thank you for the advice about the point saver. I have a ONAN 4.0 BFA Generator and have had nothing but ignition problems from the start. After installing the point saver the generator has smoothed out and is now very reliable. I have put about 15 hrs on it after the installation of the point saver and very pleased. Outstanding Product.

Dave---you can add me to the list of happy customers. The point saver has made a big difference in the performance of my tractor. Thank you----

I want to thank you for your excellent service on shipping my Dual PointSaver Ignition system. It only took 2 weeks to receive my parts. I installed them on my 1971 model 982 cub cadet with the Onan eng. It made my classic 982 run like a top. You revived an old classic cub 982 that I was about to give up on. Thanks again.

Dave, Just installed the new coil and Point Saver on my 1987 John Deere 214. I can't believe the difference! My tractor has never run so good and so smooth. I have to say I was skeptical at first thinking that this product could not make my tractor run as well as others have said online. Boy was I wrong! I sill don't know how the Point Saver makes my tractor run so good...but it does. Thanks Dave for a fine product. Keep up the good work. Mike.

I want to thank you for creating and selling the solid-state "The PointSaver" replacement for the condenser. It has made my Cub Cadet 1450 of 1975 vintage run like a dream in cold weather. Now it starts and runs every time with no need for using starting fluid anymore because it works so consistently. I have had occassion to blow snow with my 1450 several times since installing "The PointSaver". I have been all smiles now because it has made the 1450 run so reliably. All I have to do is turn on the ignition and when the coil becomes warm enough to generate enough charge after a few rotations, the engine fires and takes off and continues to run wonderfully. No more backfires and non-starting experiences like I had with the condenser. I also like the LED that you have incorporated into "The PointSaver" because it gives me the feedback that power is going through the line.

My father-in-laws JD 112 (10 HP Kohler) had always been hard to start, as well as rough running. Lately, it required either 20 to 30 seconds of cranking or a little starter fluid to get it going. I cleaned the metering needle in the carburetor, installed your point saver (with new points as recommended) and electric fuel pump, and now it starts within 2 seconds every time. I inherited this tractor after my father-in-law bought a new tractor (major reasons for replacement were the hard starting along with the sputtering and occasional misfire - even after a complete overhaul by a JD dealer). He would be amazed at how well it is now running.

You can use this as a reference for these products. They worked as advertised.

I think it only fair that I should include those responses I've received from those that feel my services or products are less than stellar. These appear below. I make every effort to treat my customers as I would like to be treated if the roles were reversed. My motto is an old one..."the customer is always right". Obviously, I've failed these customers and thus I'm adhering to another of my life lessons, "honesty is the best policy".

Since I have neither received an answer to the last e-mail I sent to you yesterday (see below) OR the parts I ordered and paid for via Paypal, you leave me no option but to conclude that you are a crook. As such, I will now contact Paypal and My credit card that was used in my Paypal account to secure a refund and see what can be done to prevent you from cheating others. I will also take any other steps that I see fit to put you out of business and/or make your sham business as difficult as possible.

I am now generously granting you two additional days to ship my order (with tracking) before I proceed to claim a refund and take other actions.

I realize that you have a full time job but I think if you are going to sell on line that you should take the time to ship in a timely manner, I have waited two weeks and that is enough, please cancel my order and refund my money!

Lucky me! I'm one of the individuals that received one of your -- known to you -- 3% failure rate products; got to spent hours and hours trying to determine why my tractor was not working any longer, get to be delayed in installing the second one I bought until you send me a replacement for the first one, have the chance of getting another failure product, and also get to pay an extra $4 or what turns out to be more than 10% more for your product because I am required to mail it back to you. And when I ask if you can do anything for all my wasted time and troubles on the purchase of yet another one, you tell me no because they are selling too well for you. As I said, how lucky can one person be for being your repeat customer, trusting you and your product, and then purchasing more of it.

I put the defective trandenser in the mail so you should be receiving it shortly and send me a replacement. And I have not had any troubles with the second one that I installed on my tractor --- so I guess again, lucky me.

You are changing stories and being manipulative, now you won't honor the warranty you told me you would honor in the previous email , even when i offered to buy a second. just because you're being friendly doesn't mean i don't have written record of you fucking me over for 4 months with your junk. Send it TODAY, or you will regret it. That's not specifically a threat of physical violence, you can be made to thoroughly regret decisions through very legal means and via extreme financial distress. Its not about money now, its about you fucking with me and promising to send shit, then i find an email 3 days later saying "uh, well, are ya sure? I changed my mind again and wanted to ruin another fucking day and week of your life. So i didn't do what i said". Send it to xxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxx xxx in xxxxxxxxx xx xxxxx TODAY. If you arent going to honor a legal agreement because your feelings are hurt, that's fine too, but call me immediately at 814, you know what, don't call me because i can't trust my mouth right now. Call my VA caretaker so i have another legal witness to your bullshit . ### ### #### ONLY call if you are breaking your legal contract and not sending it TODAY, I don't want to talk to you, if you want me out of your life, take five fucking minutes and send the five dollar god damn electronic you legally agreed to send a week ago that i emailed MONTHS AGO asking for another. You know what, i won't even punish you, I'll go buy every classic cub that could be restored within 250 miles of me and make them all target practice and a bonfire.then post it to every cub site and explain why, yes, im fucking insane, send the part.
